Just wanted one to know that Nick the guy who built the big log house for his family. Is now working on the front pourch, got some of it on then he is working on the balconey! When the camera goes towards the field from the cabin see the little shed. He built this first to live in while he contructed the cabin. He has a wife and two kids. And after working all day he still does stuff with the family. The little A-frame out in the field is a good one. The inside is all done up too. One is not losing her edge, I have been thru change of life stuff a lot in me getting old. Today I came out of the kitchen and then fell in my bedroom. Not sure what happened this morning. I laded on my wight bench and am ok. Was up then went on down. I am still going to enjoy today! I google up Nick they guy who built the big log cabin and it finds him. The kids are little and they were helping their dad out today too! His wife will come out and visit him too. In the winter they all go after he is done working on the cabin sking! They make a jump and just go for it. He has to snowshoe out of there sometimes. He hand dug out all the footers and mixed up the concrete. It was all work. A while back he peeled up about 30 more logs. Paul in Ohio

Where is Dad?

So unless I'm mistaken when I click the link that takes me to the plans it's missing the section in the plans on how to build the actual toilet part? I don't see any mention of the 2x4 going across or anywhere in the diagram. I see nothing about dimensions or how to cut the plywood to fit or how to cut the toilet seat? I'm an absolute beginner at this and was really hoping to have it all explained. Am I missing something? I would love to try building this. Bear in mind I'm talking specifically about the shopping list and the cut list and everything underneath. Looks great and your videos are awesome.

I'm really enjoying your off-grid videos Excellent!! A couple of questions: With the outdoor toilet, will it eventually compost ? And why not just use a composting toilet? Also, re showers....I've taken many sun showers when camping in warm climates. How do you shower in cold climates? thank you!

I saw your husband's construction video on outhouse it was great.. put a big comment on it.. i hope you can refer him to it.. U.P. Michigan outhouse 3 yrs ago.. but caught this ..much more current.. 1 question be honest.. its 2 people using that outhouse. It will take 5 yrs of use.. before 2-4 people utilize that 5 ' hole.. back filling with some sawdust or fireplace ash. Still wont fill it in yrs!! Why worry about TP.. i use a OH in a campground its there for yrs.. Dozens of people. And lime at end of season to break down compost but seriously TP cannot ever be concerned.. also. I asked hubby about vent pipe. I dont see 1 here.. to off gas vent hole..?? Thank you kindly.. im gonna build 1 this summer on 15 vacant acres .. thanks again

For your bug bite or bee sting or whatever that was you should have first off taken Benadryl. That would stop the allergic reaction and then you could have used a topical application of something that would reduce the redness. Wherever I go if I go camping or wherever I always make sure I take Benadryl cuz it can be a lifesaver. Anyway I love your videos They are so interesting and I feel like I'm right there camping with you! ❤️

Thank you for sharing you process of constructing you tent. Do you think giving the rain fly cover a silicone layer for added protection and durability would effect the overall integrity of the whole structure?

Loved your video and thank you for sharing your experience. I was thinking about the same type of set up. I wonder why the creators of the lotus bell tents not create a rain fly for the stargazer style, similar to the other wilderness resource, How was the design of the rain fly different from the bell lotus tent? How did you have to modify or rig it up differently?
